Women's Tennis Ends Spring Trip with a Loss

KISSIMMEE, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team concluded its Spring Break Trip with a 6-3 loss to McMurry University (Texas) on Wednesday.
 
Doubles
The Saints went 1-2 in doubles play to begin the match. The No. 1 team of Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) were the lone victors by an 8-5 score.
 
Singles
The Saints dropped the top four flights in straight sets. Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) won her match in straight sets at the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-3. The final winner on the day was Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) at No. 6, rallying to win in a third set super-breaker 6-7 (1-7), 6-2, (10-8).
 
Up Next:
The Saints (9-3) return to action in Duluth on March 24 and 25 when they face Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opponents Martin Luther College and then the University of Northwestern.
