DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) -- The St. Scholastica women's tennis team was downed by Gustavus Adolphus College 9-0 at the Arrowhead Tennis Center Saturday morning. 

The Action
In doubles, St. Scholastica's No. 1 team was swept 8-0. The No. 2 team of Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) and the No. 3 team of Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and and Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) both fell by 8-2 scores.

In singles, No. 2 Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) almost won her first set,. but fell by scores of 7-5, 6-3. The rest of the St. Scholastica team was unable to win more than three games in a single set.

The Saints (4-1, 1-0 UMAC) travel to Virginia, Minnesota to face the University of Minnesota Morris Cougars next Friday. This conference match is scheduled to start off at 4 p.m. at the Virginia Indoor Tennis Center.
