csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team made it two wins in two days with a convincing 8-1 victory over Concordia College-Moorhead on Saturday.
Doubles:
The Saints began by sweeping the three doubles matches. The No. 1 team of
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) and
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) won 8-1. That was the same winning score for the No. 2 team
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) and
Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS). Finally, the No. 3 team of
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and
Syd Holt (Crosslake, Minn. /Pequot Lakes HS) blanked their opponents 8-0.
Singles:
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) also shut out her opponent at the No. 4 spot 6-0, 6-0.
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) won at the No. 3 spot 6-0, 6-1 and Solberg prevailed at the No. 1 spot 6-4, 6-0.
Elizabeth Fink (Rochester, Minn. /Rochester Century HS) won her first collegiate singles match at the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-3.
Taylor Hays (Altoona, Wis. /Altoona HS) was the final winner on the night, winning at the No. 6 spot 6-2, 6-4.

The Saints (2-0) return home and will have their Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener next Saturday when they take on North Central University (Minn.) at the Arrowhead Tennis Center.
