MORRIS, Minn. (csssaints.com) - The St. Scholastica's women's tennis team dominated the University of Minnesota Morris 9-0 Sunday morning in a conference contest, its second match sweep in a row and their sixth of the season.
Doubles:
The Saints triumphed during the doubles competition. No. 1 team Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) and the No. 2 team Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) and Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS), each defeated their Minnesota Morris opponents 8-1. At the No. 3, Risako Oya (Chiba, Japan /ShowaGakuin Shuei HS) and Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) swept their match with a score of 8-0.
Singles:
For St. Scholastica, all matches were won in straight sets. Solberg (No. 1) and Scanlan (No. 2) prevailed with matching scores of 6-2, 6-1. Rojas (No. 3), Coryell (No. 4) and Brascugli (No. 5) cruised by their opponents 6-0, 6-0. At the No. 6 spot, Oya won with scores of 6-1, 6-0 to complete the Saints' sweep.
