Notables-Hays wins her first collegiate singles match-CSS improves to 41-0 all-time vs. MLC

csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team blanked Martin Luther College 9-0 on Friday night at the Swanson Tennis Center.
DoublesThe No. 1 team of
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College), along with the No. 2 team of
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) and
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) defeated their opponents 8-0. The No. 3 duo of
Moriah Branick (Eau Claire, Wis. /Eau Claire Regis HS) and
Kelly Neil (Mora, Minn. /Mora HS) won 8-2.
SinglesSolberg (No. 1),
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) (No. 3) and
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) (No. 4) did not drop a game with each winning 6-0, 6-0. Coryell has won a team-high 11 singles matches during the spring season.
Scanlan (No. 2) dropped only one game in a 6-0, 6-1 victory.
Risako Oya (Chiba, Japan /ShowaGakuin Shuei HS) won her match 6-1, 6-2 at the No. 5 spot. The final winner was
Taylor Hays (Altoona, Wis. /Altoona HS) by scores of 6-3, 6-3 at the No. 6 spot.
Up Next:The Saints (8-5, 3-0 UMAC) will have two matches tomorrow beginning with a non-conference match with Midland University at 11 a.m. and then a conference contest with Bethany Lutheran College at 2 p.m. Both matches will take place at the West Hills Tennis & Fitness Center in Owatonna.
