Notables-La Crosse's first match of the spring season-CSS was shut out by the Eagles in three of the four previous meetings

csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell one match short in a 5-4 loss to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Saturday night at the Lifetime Fitness.
Doubles:The Saints dropped two of the three doubles matches, but the No. 1 team of
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) prevailed 8-5. The No. 1 doubles team for La Crosse is ranked No. 6 in the Central Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
Singles:After victories by
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) at No. 3 and
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) at No. 5 the Saints tied the dual match at 3-3. Hauer won by scores of 6-4, 7-5 and Coryell won 7-5, 6-3.
The Eagles took a 4-3 lead after winning at No. 4, but Solberg came out on top at No. 2 by scores of 6-4, 6-2 to set up a winner-take-all match at the No. 6 spot. Unfortunately for the Saints, La Crosse prevailed in straight sets at No. 6 to take the dual match 5-4.
Up Next:The Saints (4-3) will be at home tomorrow when it takes on Concordia College-Moorhead at the Arrowhead Tennis Center. Action is scheduled to get underway around 9 a.m.
