csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team shut out Macalester College 9-0 late Monday night.
Doubles:The No. 1 team of
Jessica Solberg (Bemidji, Minn. /Bemidji HS) and
Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) won 8-3. The No. 2 tandem of
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) and
Elise Hauer (Duluth, Minn. /Duluth East HS) was victorious 8-4. The No. 3 duo of
Katelyn Rice (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) and
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) cruised to an 8-0 victory.
Singles:Rojas (No. 3) rallied from a set down to win in a super-breaker 3-6, 6-4, (10-7). Rice (No. 6) also had to come from behind to win in a super-breaker 4-6, 6-4, (10-7).
Scanlan (No. 1) did not drop a game, winning 6-0, 6-0. Solberg (No. 2) also won convincingly 6-0, 6-2. The scores were flipped in
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS)'s win at the No. 5 spot 6-2, 6-0.
Due to time restraints Hauer's match at the No. 4 spot was an eight-game pro set, in which Hauer won 8-5.
