ORLANDO, Fla. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team fell to two regionally-ranked opponents on Wednesday to end its Spring Break trip.
Berry 8, CSS 1 (Box Score) The Saints were defeated by Berry College (Ga.) 8-1 to begin the day. The Vikings are ranked seventh in the Atlantic South Region by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).
The lone winner for the Saints was
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) at No. 5 singles in straight sets 6-1, 6-3.
Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) dropped a tight match at No. 6 singles 1-6, 6-0, (10-8).
Haverford 9, CSS 0 (Box Score) The Saints ended action with a 9-0 loss to Haverford College (Pa.). The Fords are ranked 15
th in the Atlantic South Region by the ITA.
CSS lost all six singles matches in straight sets. The closest score was at No. 2 doubles when
Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) and
Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) lost 8-6.
The Saints (6-5) return to action on Saturday, March 21 when they face Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter in the morning and North Central University in Minneapolis in the afternoon.
