Another 9-0 Victory for Women's Tennis

FARGO, N.D. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's tennis team improved to 4-0 for the first time since 2011 with a 9-0 victory Sunday night at Concordia College-Moorhead.
 
The Saints got things started with three wins in doubles play. The No. 1 team of Madeleine Scanlan (St. Albans, England /Loreto College) and Daniela Rojas (Monterrey, Mexico /Universidad Tecmilenio) won 8-2. The No. 2 duo of Alexis Gunderson (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) and Katie Kingston (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS), as well as, the No. 3 team of Miki Samz (Savage, Minn. /Burnsville HS) and Alexia Brascugli (Eveleth, Minn. /Eveleth-Gilbert HS) won by a score of 8-4.
 
The Saints won all six singles matches in straight sets. Gunderson (No.1) topped her opponent 6-0, 6-2. Scanlan (No.2) and Brascugli (No.6) each won by 6-1, 6-1 scores.
 
Sarah Coryell (Golden Valley, Minn. /Armstrong HS) (No.5) won by scores of 6-1, 6-2. Rojas (No.3) won 6-2, 6-3 and the final winner was Samz (No.4) 7-5, 6-1.
 
The Saints will next be in action on Saturday, February 21 back at Quad Cities Tennis in Virginia against St. Olaf College.
