Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 OSKALOOSA, Iowa (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica softball team dropped two more games on Sunday with a 7-4 loss to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire earlier in the day followed by a close 4-3 defeat to the University of Dubuque.

CSS 4, UW-Eau Claire 7
To start the day, the Saints took on UW-Eau Claire. The Blugolds scored the first run of the game in the top of the third after Amanda Fischer doubled out to center field and scored an unearned run off a throwing error later in the inning.

The Blugolds continued their offensive play in the top of the fifth where another throwing error scored Nikki Brooks and a RBI single by Deanna Gilane put Eau Claire up 3-0.

Two walked batters followed by a home run from Fischer in the bottom of the sixth put the Saints down three more runs with 6-0 on the scoreboard.

The Saints got their bats going in the bottom of the sixth. Kara Warren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) doubled out to canter and scored off hits by Rendi Johnson (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake HS) and Micah McGuiness (Forest Lake, Minn./Forest Lake HS) with the RBI to put the Saints on the board 6-1 to end the inning.

Eau Claire scored one more in the seventh before the Saints fought back in the bottom of the seventh.  Tiff Hudack (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS) and Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) reached on fielding errors and got batted in by Warren and Molly Jazdzewski (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS). Rendi Johnson (Bonney Lake, Wash./Bonney Lake HS) drove in Warren for the last run of the inning and the Saints took home a 7-4 loss.

Johnson was a strong batter for the Saints going 4-for-4 with an RBI. Amanda Fischer was strong at the plate for the Blugolds with three RBIs. The Saints out-hit the Blugolds 12-6. Chrisi Mizera (Frankfort, Ill./Lincoln-Way East HS) picked up the loss for the Saints

CSS 3, Dubuque 4
The Saints came out strong against Dubuque. Solo home runs in the first and second innings by Jazdzewski and Johnson put the Saints up 2-0 to start the game.

In the bottom of the third, Dubuque returned to score three. A double by Meyer scored two followed by a triple from Koerperich to right field put the Spartans up 3-2 to end the inning.

After the Saints left the bases loaded in the fifth, they would tie the contest in the sixth as Nikki Logergren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Northern Stars)) drove in Emily Schiro (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Armstrong HS). However, the Saints again left the bases loaded.

The Spartans stranded the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth and would have two quick outs in the bottom of the seventh. Then Gerace sent a double out to left. Gerace would score the walk-off run as a dropped fly ball allowed her to score from second and end the game by a score of 4-3.

McGuiness had 10 strikeouts in the loss for CSS.

With Monday's conference opener against Northland College postponed, the Saints (6-10) will open conference play at the UMAC Crossover next weekend at the Vadnais Heights Sports Center. CSS will open with Crown College at 2 p.m. on Saturday.
