CSS 5, Washington-St. Louis 9
The Saints started off the day losing to 23rd ranked Washington-St. Louis 9-5 on Saturday morning.

The Saints started off the game strong in the first inning with both Tiff Hudack (Ashland, Wis./Ashland HS) and Kara Warren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS) singling to center field. Molly Jazdzewski (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Central HS)  would then clear the bases on a 3-run home run to left field to put the Saints up 3-0 early on.

Washington-St. Louis closed the gap to one with a home run of their own in the bottom of the first. After a scoreless second inning the Saints would increase their lead with another home run, this one coming from Kasandra McCabe (St. Peter, Minn./St. Peter HS) to put the Saints up 4-2.

The Saints defense slipped a little bit giving up 3 runs in the bottom of the third with one coming off a wild pitch, along with two more runs in both the fourth and the fifth inning to give Washington-St. Louis a 9-4 lead.

The Saints would look to start a comeback in the sixth inning after a Sydney Gordon (International Falls, Minn./Falls HS) RBI single, but the Saints would not be able to put up any more runs while leaving two runners on base, resulting in a 9-5 loss.

There was no scoring by either team in the next three innings.

The Saints would once again look to mount a comeback in the sixth inning with another Jazdzewski RBI single, but the Saints would leave 3 runners on base to end the inning.

Central College would add a couple insurance runs in the bottom of the sixth with the Saints scoring their last run of the game in the seventh inning on a sacrifice fly RBI from Hannah Borgeson (Woodville, Wis./Baldwin-Woodville HS) to make the final score 9-3.
