Warren Bowlus Results
DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team set three program records on Saturday as the team had members at the Minnesota State Open and Multi and the Warren Bowlus Open.
Minnesota State Open and Multi
Friday night in Mankato,
Jeremy Peterson (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) and
Charlie Fernow (North Branch, Minn./North Branch HS) competed in the weight throw and
Kevin Wagner (Cleveland, Minn./Cleveland HS) took part in the first leg of the heptathlon.
Peterson placed seventh in the weight throw with a mark of 48'10.75" (14.90m). Wagner finished tied for fifth in the heptathlon with 2549 points thru four events.
On Saturday, Wagner would get no points in the pole vault and would finish with 3895 points, which was eighth.
Travis Ambuehl (Lake Linden, Mich./Lake Linden-Hubbell HS) competed in the pole vault and placed 10th.
Warren Bowlus Open
The rest of the team took part in the Warren Bowlus Open, which was at the University of Wisconsin-Stout, the second straight weekend the Saints were in Menomonie.
Chris Lawson (Minneapolis, Minn./St. Anthony Village) broke the program record in the 5,000m run, winning the event in a time of 15:30.56.
Kelin Dunfee (St. Paul, Minn./St. Paul Central HS) won the 800m run with a time of 2:01.09.
Charlie Habermann (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS) placed 10th in the 3,000m run, but broke the program record with a time of 8:46.66.
Peterson came up from Mankato and broke the program record in the shot put with a mark of 48'5.25" (14.76m) to finish fifth.
Corey Anderson (Duluth, Minn./Hermantown HS) was fourth in the high jump, clearing 6'0" (1.83m). Fernow was fifth in the weight throw with a toss of 50'4" (15.34m).
The Saints will be at home next weekend when they host the seventh annual Lake Superior Challenge in the Burns Wellness Center Fieldhouse. Action is slated to begin at 11 a.m.
