PREVIEW: Men's Hockey Gets Back to Action out East

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's hockey team will return to action on Friday when it heads out east to take part in the Pathfinder Bank Oswego Classic in New York.

The Saints will look to start the 2015 calendar year the way it started the season when they won their first four games … Unfortunately, CSS struggled to close out the first half of the season, losing three of its final four games … The Saints have dropped out of the USCHO.com Division III poll after being in it all season as they are first team out receiving the most votes.
 
Traveling Out East: This will be the first non-conference game outside the central time zone for the Saints since playing in Plattsburgh, N.Y. in 2008 … That time the Saints won their first game over Trinity (Conn.) before falling to host Plattsburgh State in the championship.
 
Happy to See the Calendar Turn: Since the 2005-06 season, the Saints are 8-1-0 in their first game when the calendar turns over for the second half of the season … The lone loss came in 2012 at Gustavus Adolphus
 
Who's Streaking: Senior captain Dave Williams (Okotoks, Alberta/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame (Waywayseecappo-MJHL) ) has scored a goal in each of the last two games … Justin Krabben (Rocky Mountain House, Alberta/Hunting Hills HS (Canmore-AJHL) ) and Keegan Bruce (Bellingham, Wash./Bellingham HS (Weyburn-SJHL) ) each have a total of three assists in the last two contests.

Tufts University Jumbos
The Jumbos enter the tournament on a three-game winning streak and a 4-4-1 record … Tufts started the season winless in its first four games before winning four of its last five games … Freshman forward Brian Brown leads the team with six goals and 11 points … Senior forward Tyler Voigt has a team-high seven assists … Sophomore Mason Pulde and freshman Ryan McConnell have each won two games in net and both have a .891 save percentage … The Jumbos are 4-0 when they score the first goal.
