Stats
Record: 6-1, 5-1 NCHA
Northern Collegiate Hockey Association: Stats Standings

St. Scholastica enters the slate of weekend games with momentum on its side following a victory over No.14 Saint John's University on November 25th…The Saints hold a perfect 5-0 record when playing at home this season…CSS is currently third in the NCHA standings sitting two points behind undefeated and untied conference leader Adrian College.

Road Test: The Saints have posted a very respectable 6-1 record so far this season, including a 5-0 record at home, but they have only played one series away from Mars Lakeview Arena…St. Scholastica split its only away series of the season at Finlandia with each team winning one game…CSS will begin its first long road trip of the season playing four straight away from home starting with Lake Forest College on Friday and ending on December 13th against the University of St. Thomas.

Offensive Defensemen: Junior defensemen Justin Krabben (Rocky Mountain House, Alberta/Hunting Hills HS (Canmore-AJHL) ) has been a steady provider of offense from the blue line this season…Krabben has totaled six points (2-4-6) in seven games played which ranks ninth in the NCHA amongst defensemen…Krabben is also tied for the team lead with two power-play goals on the year.

Disciplined Hockey: One key factor in the Saints success this season is their ability to stay out of the box…In seven games this season CSS has totaled 66 penalty minutes for an average of 9.4 penalty minutes per game which is second lowest in the NCHA.

Taking Advantage of the Power Play: CSS has done a great job of staying out of the penalty box but they have also been capitalizing when given power play opportunities…The Saints have converted nine times on the power play in 33 chances (27.3%) for the fourth best power play in the conference…Dylan Nowakowski (Calgary, Alberta/Centennial HS (Brooks-AJHL) ) has been a catalyst with the man-advantage where he leads the team with five power play points (1-4-5) on the season.

Slow Start: St. Scholastica has struggled to get going early in games so far this season…The Saints have only scored five goals in the first period of games this season while allowing five goals to opponents in the first as well…However, CSS has scored 12 second period goals and 10 third period goals this season while opponents have only scored six goals in each of those periods on the season.

Balanced Attack: St. Scholastica has had 14 different goal scorers this season in just seven games played…Six different skaters have scored game-winning goals for CSS and 16 skaters have registered at least one point on the season for the Saints.

Series History: The Saints hold all-time record of 18-23 against the Foresters but CSS is 9-1 over last 10 games played against Lake Forest and swept LFC last season…St. Scholastica will play its first ever game against Aurora on Sunday.

Lake Forest College Foresters
The Foresters come into the series against St. Scholastica on a two-game winning-streak following their sweep of Finlandia University…LFC holds a 4-3-2 overall and are 3-2-1 NCHA…Sophomore forward Jack Lewis leads Lake Forest with 11 points on the season (3-8-11) and Luke Swardenski leads the team with six goals on the year…Leo Podolski has been among the best in the NCHA in net for Lake Forest this season where his save-percentage (.943) ranks third and his goals-against average (1.87) ranks fourth…The Foresters also boast the second best penalty kill in the conference as they have allowed only four power play goals to opponents in 39 chances.

Aurora University Spartans
The Spartans hold an 0-6 overall record on the season…Morenis Rihards leads the team with nine points on the season (3-6-9) followed by Michael Mikulan with eight (3-5-8)…Aurora has used three different starting goalies this season who hold a combined goals-against average of 6.42…The Spartans have especially struggled in the second period this season where they have allowed 21 goal-against to opponents ... The Spartans will be full-time members of the NCHA next season.
