PREVIEW: Women's Hockey to Face #6 UW-River Falls

DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The ninth-ranked St. Scholastica women's hockey team will look to snap a two-game losing skid as it faces its second consecutive ranked opponent in sixth-ranked University of Wisconsin-River Falls this weekend for a two-game series.

#9 St. Scholastica Saints

- The Saints are coming off a 2-0 loss to eighth-ranked University of Wisconsin-Superior on Tuesday. 
- Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) currently leads the Saints and nation with 34 points. She also leads in goals with 22 and power play goals with nine.
-Isabel Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Graubunden Canton School (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) is second in the nation with 35 points, and leads the nation in assists with 21.
-Despite going 0-for-8 on the power-play in their last two losses, the Saints still have the best power play percentage in the country at a 35.4 success rate, and are second in goals per game with 4.71.
-In net, Lindsey Hartfiel (Big Lake, Minn./Buffalo HS) is second in the NCHA with a .921 save percentage.

#6 University of Wisconsin-River Falls Falcons
Record: 10-3-2 (3-2-1 WIAC)

-The Falcons are sitting second in the WIAC and haven't suffered a loss in 10 games, after recording eight wins and two ties.
-Last weekend, the Falcons picked up pair of wins against Concordia College-Moorhead by scores of 3-0 and 2-1.
-Katie Batters leads River Falls and is second in the WIAC in points with 19 so far this season.
-Chloe Kinsel and Brook Story both have 14 points each for the Falcons in 15 games. 
-Ashley Kuechle who has seen the majority of time in net for the Falcons this year, holds a .932 save percentage and 1.46 average goals per game.
Series History: (CSS is 0-6-0 vs. UW-River Falls)
-Last year, the Saints lost both contests to the Falcons by scores of 5-3 and 5-2.
