DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team continues league play this weekend as it heads to Crown College on Friday and the University of Minnesota Morris on Saturday.

St. Scholastica Saints

-The Saints are coming off of a 3-0 victory on Tuesday over Northland in the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) opener. The Saints dominated the contest, outshooting the 'Jacks 26-4.
-
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) continued his strong play on Tuesday, recording a goal and a pair of assists. Watt currently has or is tied for the UMAC lead in goals, assists, points and shots.
-Not to be outdone defensively, Saints keeper
Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) leads the UMAC in saves, save percentage and goals-against average.
-The CSS defense has played well again so far this season, having given up just four goals in six contests.
-Reigning UMAC Offensive Player of the Year
Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) did not play in Tuesday's contest after suffering an injury against Macalester. Jenkins has yet to score a point thus far this season.
-History is on the Saints' side in UMAC contests. CSS has not lost a conference game since the 2009 season, when Minnesota Morris dealt the Saints a 1-0 defeat.

Crown College Storm
Record: 1-3-0 (0-0-0 UMAC)

-Crown looks to rebound from a 3-0 road loss to Saint Mary's University last Saturday.
-Freshman Sam Eckman has provided the offensive power for the Storm. He is tied with the Saints'
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) for the UMAC lead in goals with three, and is tied for second to Watt with a pair of assists.
-Despite leading the UMAC in goals scored, Crown has struggled offensively, having been shut out in three of four contests thus far. All seven goals for Crown came in their 7-4 victory over Rockford College on 9/7.
-The Crown defense has also had issues this season, allowing a UMAC-high 19 goals thus far. Crown has given up six goals twice, and has not held opponents to under three goals.
-Storm keeper Janson Rudzitis is third in the UMAC with 30 saves. However, the freshman has a save percentage of just .625.
-Crown was picked fifth in the UMAC preseason poll of league coaches. Last season, the Storm finished fifth in the conference with a 5-7-2 record.

University of Minnesota Morris Cougars

-Minnesota-Morris looks to halt a three-game losing skid this weekend as their seven game homestand comes to a close. The Cougars face Northland this Friday before hosting the Saints on Saturday.
-The Cougar offense has been non-existent in their losing streak, having been shut out in three consecutive games. Morris has scored just three goals on the season, and have been shut out in four of their six contests thus far.
-Ebrima Badgie, the second leading scorer in the conference last season, has been a bright spot for Morris. He is the only Cougar with more than two shots on goal, and has a goal and an assist on the year.
-The Cougars have struggled to keep pace with opponents in the first half. Morris has been outscored 8-1 in the first half so far this season.
-Keepers Jacob Borash and Matthew Yost have been splitting time in net this season. Yost currently has a statistical edge over Borash, having allowed just four goals to Borash's nine. However, Borash was an all-UMAC first teamer last season.
-Morris has nine of their eleven starters from last season's squad, and was picked second behind CSS in the UMAC preseason poll of league coaches.

-The Saints have not officially lost to Morris since 2009. However, the contests have been close, as six of the Saints victories came by just one goal.
