| By:
Box Score DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – Sophomore Tom Corcoran (Warrington, England/Great Sankey HS, Priestley College) recorded a hat trick for the second consecutive game and the fifth time this season as the St. Scholastica men's soccer team defeated Martin Luther College 7-0 Friday at Saints Field.

The Saints got the scoring started in the 14th minute when Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) flicked in his 30th goal of the season off a Sean Morgan (Belfast, Ireland/St. Patrick’s Grammar School) cross. Jenkins becomes only the 14th player in the NCAA Division III history to record at least 30 goals in a season.

Corcoran registered his first goal of the game 10 minutes later, heading in a Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) corner kick. Shawayne Folkes (Toronto, Ontario/Maxwell Heights) added his fifth tally on the year in the 39th minute to make it 3-0. Ryan Cullen (Andover, Minn./Andover HS) and Watt had the assists. For Watt, it was his 30th assist this season, which tied the NCAA Division III record for assists in a season.

Jenkins scored his second of the contest a little over a minute later with a header off a Morgan cross.

The second half saw the Saints continue to put pressure on the Knights. Corcoran recorded his second goal in the first five minutes, tapping in a Ben Cullen (Clough, Northern Ireland/Shimna Integrated College) pass.

Watt then got a goal of his own in the 60th minute to make it 6-0. Morgan had his third assist on the Watt goal. Corcoran completed the hat trick in the 72nd minute, finishing a Jenkins pass to make the final score 7-0.

Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) did not make a save to earn the shutout win. Eric Hahn had 16 saves in the loss for Martin Luther (4-14-0, 3-10-0). CSS out-shot Martin Luther 34-1 in the contest.

The Saints (14-2-3, 13-0-0 UMAC) will finish the regular season tomorrow when they host Bethany Lutheran College at 2:15 p.m. at Saints Field. The action can be seen live on Saints Sports Net.
