PREVIEW: Women’s Hockey Travels to Wisconsin for Last Two-Game Road Series

DULUTH, Minn. – The CSS women's hockey team will be on the road this weekend for the second-to-last regular season series to take on the Concordia University (Wis.) Falcons at Ozaukee Ice Center in Mequon, Wis.

Last Action:
The Saints were in Lake Forest, Ill. last weekend for a series against the Foresters of Lake Forest College.  CSS came away with one point in the series tying 2-2 on Saturday night and falling 1-0 on Sunday afternoon.

St. Scholastica Saints (11-6-4, 9-5-2 NCHA)
With the Concordia's loss to St. Norbert on Wednesday the Saints clinched their first-ever playoff berth in the NCHA … The final four games are still important for the Saints however as they will be looking to hold onto home ice in the first round currently sitting in fourth place … The top four teams earn home ice in the first round of the O'Brien Cup … Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) continues to lead the team as she has all season with 27 points on 14 goals and 13 assists … Waidacher's 27 points is also a conference best … Monika Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftsschule KV Chur (Swiss National Team)) is in second with 22 points on eight goals and 14 assists … Michelle Fischer (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) is the third Saint with 20+ points with 21 on seven goals and 14 assists … Shannon Connolly (Toronto, Ontario/Havergal College) and Sheridan Friesen (Winnipeg, Manitoba/Ontario Hockey Academy) have split most of the time in goal this season with 6-2-2 and 5-3-1 records, respectively … The Saints also welcomed back last year's starting goaltender Rachel Borchardt (Willow River, Minn./Willow River HS ) who earned a tie in her first game back at Lake Forest.

Concordia Falcons (7-12-2, 5-10-1 NCHA)
Despite an eight-game winless streak the Falcons are still just two points out of the eighth and final playoff spot with 11 (UW-Eau Claire has 13) … Hilary Christiansen is the team leader with 17 points on four goals and 17 assists … The Falcons only have two other players with double-digit point totals in Alyssa Isaackson and Emily Heckendorf who both have 13 … Isaackson has a team-best nine goals and four assists, while Heckendorf has six goals and seven assists … CUW has had three goaltenders split time this season in Andrea Mizanskey, Kaitlyn Evans and Jennifer DeGeorge … Mizanskey has a 3-5-0 record, Evans is 3-2-0 and DeGeorge is 1-5-2.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Concordia Wisconsin: 1-1-0)
The Saints and Falcons met in Duluth last season where the Falcons took game one 3-0 and the Saints followed with a win in game two 1-0.  It was the first conference victory in program history for the Saints.
