DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the first time both the St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams will be competing in the NCAA Division III Tournament at the same time and even at the same place against the same school when they both take on Loras College (Iowa) in Dubuque this weekend.

St. Scholastica captured its third consecutive Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) regular season title and 16th title, going unbeaten and untied in conference play for the first time since the 2007 season.

The Saints also won its third UMAC Tournament title in the last four seasons, defeating the University of Minnesota Morris 1-0 in last Saturday's championship game.

In that game, the Saints scored the game-winning goal, while playing a man down for the 20 minutes.

By winning the UMAC Tournament, the Saints grabbed the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament for the second time.

The last and only NCAA Tournament appearance for the Saints came in 2010, which ended in a 1-0 double overtime loss to Augsburg College in Whitewater, Wis.

CSS leads all NCAA Divisions in scoring offense (4.32), total goals (95), total assists (103) and total points (293).

The Saints have led the Division III in points and assists since September.

Sophomore forward Andrew Jenkins (Cardiff, Wales/Whitchurch HS) leads the team and is second in NCAA Division III with a program record 25 goals this season.

On Wednesday, Jenkins was named the UMAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Year. The Saints had a total of six players named first team all-conference.

Junior midfielder Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) leads the nation with 26 assists, which is also a program record, and is tied for the second-most all-time in NCAA Division III history.

Junior goalkeeper Adam Hewitt (Richmond Hill, Ontario/St. Theresa of Lisieux Catholic HS) is in his first full season as a starter for the Saints and was and was named the UMAC Tournament MVP for stopping seven shots in the championship game on Saturday.

Hewitt led the conference with a 0.70 goals-against-average, .833 save percentage, 16 wins and eight shutouts.
About the Duhawks

Loras won the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) regular season and tournament championship.
