DULUTH, Minn. (csssaints.com) – For the first time, women's Division III hockey will take place in Hastings, Minn. Tuesday night as the St. Scholastica women's hockey team will face Saint Mary's University in a non-conference contest at 7 p.m.

Jordy Klimek (Hastings, Minn./Hastings HS), a Hastings native, will play against her sister, Mackenzie, for the first time on Tuesday.

The game is a home game for the Saints, but because of the unique situation head coach Jackie MacMillan decided it would be a neat idea to play the game at the Hastings Civic Center in the sisters' hometown.

Both sisters were captains for the Hastings Raiders varsity team.

Jordy, a junior forward, has a pair of assists on the year thus far.

Nina Waidacher (Arosa, Switzerland/Wirtschaftschule KV Chur (ZSC Lions/Swiss U18 National)) leads the team with 10 points and seven assists through the first five games. The 2011-12 AHCA Second Team All-American is second in the nation, averaging two points per game.

Freshman Nikki Logergren (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS (Northern Stars)) in tied for third in NCAA Division III with three power-play goals.

Alex Blair (Drake, Saskatchewan/Lanigan Central HS) is fifth in the nation averaging 1.2 points per game as a defenseman.

The Saints are third nationally with an average of 4.8 goals per game.

The CSS power play is fourth in the country, converting 32-percent of its opportunities.
About the Cardinals
Record: 3-3-0, 2-2-0 MIAC

Mackenzie Klimek is a sophomore defenseman for the Cardinals and has a goal and a team-high five assists already this season. She is tied for the team lead with six points.

The Cardinals are coming off a pair of losses to St. Catherine University over the weekend.

Prior to those games, Saint Mary's defeated Concordia (Wis.) and swept Hamline. CSS went 1-0-1 vs. Concordia and tied Hamline last Tuesday.

Breanna Peterson leads the team with three goals on the year. Two of her three goals were short-handed which puts her at the top nationally for most short-handed goals.

Coming into Tuesday's contest, the Cardinal goaltenders have made 157 saves and opposing goaltenders have also made 157 saves.

Sarah Gustafson and Tori Herrmann have split time in goal with Herrmann with the better numbers with two wins, a 2.67 goals-against-average and a .905 save percentage.
