Last Action:
The Saints began their season with an upset victory over MIAC favorites, Macalester, 2-1. Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) and Brandon Stemwedel (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS) both had goals and Sam Reed (Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) had seven saves to lift the Saints.

St. Scholastica Saints (1-0-0)
The Saints looked solid in their season opener at Macalester, with production from newcomer Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College) early in the game. After losing nine seniors from last year's national tournament team, the Saints look to have production from senior leaders Brandon Stemwedel (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS), and Ace Amin (Vasteras, Sweden/Rudbeckianska Gym), but also need young players, like Farrar, to step up. The early goal by the freshman Farrar is a good sign for the Saints early in the season. Senior goalkeeper Sam Reed (Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) needs just two shutouts to tie a CSS record for most in a career. Reed is also six wins away from tying the CSS record as well.

Carleton Knights (1-0-0)
Carleton opened its season up on Friday with a come-from-behind 2-1 victory over Aurora University (Ill.) … The Knights finished third in the MIAC last year with a 7-2-1 conference record, and are picked to finish as co-champs with Macalester this season. The Knights are returning four of their top scorers from last year, including senior Forward Tim Wills, who had 28 points in 2010. Carleton loses their top goalkeeper, Pete Semmer, who posted a 10-7-1 record last year with four shutouts. The Knights will look to sophomore goalkeeper James Neher to fill Semmer's shoes, as he had five saves and a victory in his lone start last season.

Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Carleton 2-8-1)
The Saints and Knights last met in 2010 in Northfield, with CSS coming out on top as victors, 1-0. Rob Johnson (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) had the game-winning goal for the Saints.
