WINONA, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's track & field team competed at the Saint Mary's Open on Saturday.
Pat Bigaouette (Chaska, Minn./Chaska HS) broke his own program record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:18.20 seconds.
Justin Hanson (Atwater, Minn./Atwater-Cosmos-Grove City HS) just missed breaking his own school record by .04 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles, placing second in the event at 15.38 seconds.
Nick Mangan (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS (Minnesota State-Mankato)) won the 5,000-meter run with a time of 15:32.15 seconds.
Sherome Milon (Minneapolis, Minn./DeLaSalle HS) was fourth in the 200-meter dash at 23.18 seconds.
Braxton Ball (Hermantown, Minn./Hermantown HS) was fifth in the 400-meter dash, finishing in 1:00.77 seconds.
In field events,
Zach Visina (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) was fourth in the high jump, clearing a height of 6'-0” (1.83m).
Aaron Marcella (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) also cleared that height to place fifth.
Tom Lyscio (Baxter, Minn./Brainerd HS) was fifth in the hammer throw with a distance of 166'-0” (0.59m).
Jake Jensen (South St. Paul, Minn./South St. Paul HS) was sixth in the triple jump (12.50m) and seventh in the long jump (6.11m).
Peter Drinkwine (Superior, Wis./Superior HS) also was sixth in the triple jump at that distance.
Tony Evans (New Richmond, Wis./New Richmond HS) was sixth in the javelin throw with a distance of 139'-6” (42.52m).
The Saints will be in Morris, Minn. next weekend for the Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) Outdoor Championships. Field events begin at noon, while running events start at 1 p.m.
