The St. Scholastica men's and women's soccer teams will face off with the Northland Lumberjacks/Jills on Friday to continue conference play with unbeaten records in the UMAC. The men will then travel to Oshkosh, Wis. on Sunday to face off with the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Titans for their biggest test of the season thus far.

St. Scholastica Saints (8-1-1, 5-0-1 UMAC)
The Saints are coming off of a weekend that handed them their first tie of the season, a scoreless one at Northwestern. They bounced back on Saturday and shutout Crown to gain momentum coming into the tough weekend. Stemwedel, a senior captain upped his point total to 15 on the weekend, tying him with
Joe Watt (London, England/North West Kent College) for second on the team, behind only
Kyle Farrar (Sevenoaks, England/Kelsey Park Sports College), who has 17 points. Another senior captain,
Sam Reed (Eastbourne, England/Causeway School), has now broken two school records this season (shutouts, wins) on his way to an 8-1-1 record. Reed has made 50 saves and has an outstanding five shutouts in his 10 starts.
Northland LumberJacks (1-10-0, 0-6-0 UMAC)
The 'Jacks haven't been able to find their spark this year, having just one lone victory against a struggling North Central team, 1-0 in a non-conference matchup. The team has only scored three goals this season, all coming from different players. Eau Rikhotso, Austin Funk and Nikol Myhra-Edwards all have two points, each with a goal. Goalkeeper Matt Larsen has made 120 saves this season, but has also given up 46 goals on his way to a 1-10-0 record.
Last Meeting: (CSS All-Time Record vs. Northland: 48-16-6)
The Saints traveled to Ashland, Wis. on September 13 this year and left with a 5-0 victory over the LumberJacks. The scoring was spread out, as five Saints players scored a goal, and four different Saints got assists.
Sam Reed (Eastbourne, England/Causeway School) earned his first shutout of the season.
UW-Oshkosh Titans (5-3-2)
After being ranked No. 2 in the preseason, the titans have fallen out of the top 25 after dropping two straight. Oshkosh opened the season with a loss to Ohio Northern, and recently have a three game winless streak, tying Carthage and losing to UW-Whitewater and Wheaton (Ill.), both unranked teams. The Titans have spread out the scoring this year, with 17 different players having points on the season. Leading the way with 10 is senior Robby Giljohann. Behind him are junior Tony Starnes with nine and senior Garrett O'Brien with eight. James Pike has been the goalkeeper on record for all but one game, with a record of 4-3-2 with two shutouts. The Titans will play UW-Platteville before facing off with the Saints.

In St. Scholastica's only meeting with UW-Oshkosh, the No. 13 Titans left Duluth with a 1-0 victory last October.

Women's Soccer
Last Action: The Saints struggled on Saturday against Crown, but snuck out of St. Bonifacius with an overtime victory 1-0.
Kaylee Gombold (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) scored an unassisted game-winner three and a half minutes into overtime.
Molly Bergmann (Walker, Minn./Walker-Hackensack-Akeley HS) earned her fourth shutout without making a save.
St. Scholastica Saints (7-4-0, 6-0-0 UMAC)
The Saints are on a six game win streak after starting the season 1-4, and are perfect in the UMAC.
Andrea Beatt (Maple Grove, Minn./Maple Grove HS) scored two goals against Northwestern to give her the team lead in points with 14.
Kelsey Kehtel (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) remains in second on the team with 12 points and
Kaylee Gombold (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) sits in third with 10. The two-headed goalkeeping monster,
Bailey Mahlum (Bismarck, N.D./Bismarck HS) and
Molly Bergmann (Walker, Minn./Walker-Hackensack-Akeley HS) have seven combined shutouts, with Mahlum sitting at 3-3-0 and Bergmann at 4-1-0. Mahlum has made 38 saves, and Bergmann has only needed to make 15.
Northland LumberJills (3-7-0, 1-5-0 UMAC)
The 'Jills have won two of their last three games, defeating North Central and winning a double overtime thriller at Crown, 3-2. Other than a season opening 12-0 victory over Finlandia, the women's team has also had trouble scoring goals this season, only scoring nine besides the 12 in game one. Ashley Runge and Jamie Rasor lead the team with 10 points this season, and Erica Meulemans is right behind them with eight. Sarah Weed and Jessica Jaeckel have split time in goal so far this season, with Weed at 2-3-0 with a shutout and Jaeckel is 1-4-0.

The Saints played Northland in Ashland, Wis. on September 13 and came away with a 6-0 victory. Kehtel scored two goals as the Saints scored five in the second half. Mahlum made three saves for her first shutout of the season.
