PREVIEW: Women’s Hockey Looks for Revenge against UWS Tonight

DULUTH, Minn. – A week after surrendering two third-period goals to the University of Wisconsin-Superior at Wessman Arena in a 2-1 loss to the Yellowjackets, the St. Scholastica women's hockey team will get another chance at UWS tonight at Mars Lakeview Arena.

After falling in the season opener to Concordia-Moorhead, the Yellowjackets have won four straight games and have begun conference play 3-0 … Superior is currently receiving votes in the U.S. College Hockey Online Division III poll … UWS is tied for the league lead with 49 points and have a NCHA-high nine power-play goals … Jenn Paul is tied for the conference lead with five goals and nine points … Three of her five goals have come on the power-play … Both Amy Torgerson and Shanley Peters have seen playing time in net with both having a 1.02 goals-against-average.

Briget Cojocar (Limerick, Saskatchewan/Lafleche HS (Melville Prairie Fire)) put the Saints on top with a power-play goal in the second period last Tuesday, but Jenn Paul scored a pair of third period goals to give the Yellowjackets the 2-1 victory.
