DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team broke program records for goals, points, and assists as it soared to a 13-0 victory over Northland College on Saints Field in an Upper Midwest Athletic Conference (UMAC) contest Friday afternoon.
#Jermaine Dacres# got the scoring started with a natural hat trick with his first goal just before the three-minute mark (2:59) and his third at 8:52. The span of 5:53 was the seventh fastest hat trick in NCAA Division-III history.
Adding two assists later in the game, Dacres finished with eight points on the afternoon and moved into 11
th place on the Saints' all-time scoring list.
#Cody Sveiven# scored a hat trick of his own – the second time he had done so when Dacres also scored one this season. Sveiven also added four assists to finish with a ten-point game, both program records. Sveiven is now eighth on the Saints' all-time scoring list.
#Erik Trochuimchuk# scored two goals and added an assist to finish with five points.
#Ben Wallace#, #Jim Atol#, and #Rob Johnson# each had a goal and an assist for three points. #Brandon Stemwedel# had a goal and two assists for four points. For Atol and Stemwedel, it was their first score of the season. #Antony Blackburn# also scored his first of the year.
#Toby Peter# was one of twelve different Saints with at least a point, as he earned two assists on the afternoon. With his two points, Peter moved to fifth all-time among Saints leading scorers. The 46 total points scored was a program record for a single game.
Eleven Saints had at least one assist as they also broke the program record for assists in a game. Both records were previously set earlier this season when the Saints faced Presentation on Sept. 26.
In total, CSS outshot Northland 39-1, including 26-0 in shots on goal.
The Saints will go out of conference on Sunday when 13
