Men's Basketball Falls at Concordia Moorhead

MOORHEAD, Minn. — The St. Scholastica men's basketball team battled hard on the road but ultimately fell to Concordia College (Minn.), 87–68, in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) matchup on Saturday afternoon at Memorial Auditorium.

St. Scholastica came out strong and showed resilience throughout the afternoon, with several Saints making impactful plays on both ends. Freshman standout Koy Nelson (Port Wing, WI/South Shore HS) led the Saints' offensive charge with a team-high 20 points on an efficient 9-of-14 shooting performance while contributing defensively and on the boards. Junior Davion Butler (South Phoenix, AZ/) continued his consistent scoring, adding 17 points and dishing out key assists to help fuel stretches of Saint momentum. Jayden Brown (Grantsburg, WI/Grantsburg HS) also provided a spark with a strong all-around 15-point outing and 11 rebounds.

Despite the spirited effort, the Cobbers maintained control for much of the contest behind balanced scoring and physical play on the interior. Concordia shot effectively from the field and executed well in transition, building a lead in the first half and keeping pressure on the Saints throughout both halves. The Saints fall to 4-8 overall, and 0-3 in MIAC play.

Up next, the Saints look to snap their losing skid back at home with a MIAC game against Hamline on Wednesday, January 7. Tip off is set for 7:00 p.m.
