DULUTH, Minn. — The St. Scholastica men's basketball team competed with grit and energy Saturday afternoon at Reif Gymnasium, but a potent offensive performance by Saint John's University propelled the Johnnies to a 102–69 Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference victory in front of a lively home crowd.
St. Scholastica (6–14, 2–8 MIAC) got spirited efforts from several contributors on both ends of the floor. Jayden Brown (Grantsburg, WI/Grantsburg HS) led the Saints with 17 points, using his quickness to create looks inside and out. Davion Butler (South Phoenix, AZ/) added 16 points, knocking down key mid-range jumpers, while Aaron Keykal (Princeton, MN/Princeton HS) provided physical play around the rim with rebounds and second-chance opportunities. The Johnnies lead for nearly the entirety of the game.
Up next, the Saints will host Macalester on Wednesday, February 4.
