The Saints dominated from the start, recording their first of 18 shots on goal with the first minute of action. The pressure continued leading to the first of 9 corners, just 8 minutes into the match. Senior Captain
Kaitlyn Sautter (Princeton, MN./Princeton HS) put a deadly service into the box finding the head of Freshman Forward
Anna Manion (Superior, WI/Superior HS) to put the Saints ahead in the 9th minute of play! Within a minute the Saints were back on the attack as Senior Captain
Peyton Mathiasen (St. Cloud, MN/St. Cloud Cathedral HS) narrowly missed on back-to-back strikes. The Saints would break through again in the 31st minute as Super-sub and leading scorer
Mariah Hernesman (Duluth, MN/Duluth Marshall HS) scored off a scramble in front of the goal. Hernesman would strike again late in the half, off a feed from Sautter, to make it 3-0 at half. The Saints outshot the Polars 18-0 in the first half. The Saints would continue to attack as they added 12 more shots in the 2nd half. The constant pressure resulted in a penalty kick in the 73rd minute. Sophomore Forward
Julia Lewis (Maple Grove, MN/Maple Grove HS) would connect for her 2nd goal in as many games to complete the scoring.
Freshmen
Rylee Senich (Cloquet, MN/Cloquet HS) and
Sophia Seals (Orono, MN/Orono HS) combined for the shutout, with Seals making her first save of her collegiate career.
Sautter's 3 assists marks the first time a Saint has had 3 assists in a match since the 2019 season.
