The College of St. Scholastica is proud to announce that seven of its athletic programs have received national academic honors for the 2024–25 academic year, further strengthening the college's tradition of excellence in both academics and athletics.
The teams honored include women's basketball, baseball, volleyball, both the men's and women's hockey teams, and the men's and women's track and field teams. Each team met or exceeded national academic standards established by their respective coaches associations, and several continued impressive multi-year streaks of achievement.
Women's Basketball - WBCA Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll
The Saints women's basketball team earned a spot on the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Academic Top 25 Team Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year as a special mention, which is reserved for teams with a cumulative team GPA of 3.00 on a 4.0 scale. This prestigious recognition is awarded to programs that rank among the top academic teams in the nation across all NCAA divisions.
Baseball - ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award
For the second year in a row, St. Scholastica's baseball team has been honored with the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Team Academic Excellence Award. The award is given to college programs that achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.0 or higher. The recognition reflects the team's dedication to maintaining a high academic standard alongside athletic performance.
Volleyball - AVCA Team Academic Award
The Saints volleyball team continued its long-standing tradition of academic excellence by earning the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, sponsored by INTENT. This marks the tenth consecutive year, and sixteenth overall, that the team has received the honor, which is awarded to programs that maintain a year-long GPA of 3.3 or higher. This decade-long streak places St. Scholastica among the most academically consistent volleyball programs in the country.
Men's and Women's Track and Field - USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams
The Saints men's and women's track and field teams received national recognition from the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Assocation (USTFCCCA) with both teams well exceeding the 3.10 GPA on a 4.0 scale needed to qualify for the designation. The men's team came in with a team GPA of 3.68 and the women finished with a great 3.79 team GPA. There were also three individual All-Academic athletes that qualified by having a 3.30 cumulative GPA and finishing the season among the top 50 individuals as listed on the descending order lists on TFRRS or by participating at the Indoor or Outdoor National Championships.
