The Saints women's track and field team made their way to Macalester College to take part in the two day festival of the MIAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. On a day that brought high temps and quick heats, the team fared well on day one and left much to look forward to on day two.

Grace McCormick (Duluth, Minn./Denfeld HS) started the action for the Saints with a 16th place finish in the 1500m run. McCormick got into the fast heat on championship day. Her time of 3:55.59 was her second best time of her promising career.

Ava Fink (Virginia, Minn./Virginia HS) ran to a 15th place performance in the 100m dash with her preliminary time of 12.99 seconds.

In the 800m dash, Regan DeWitt (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) narrowly missed out on qualifying for Saturday's final with a time of 2:21.18 to place third in her heat. She placed 11th overall in the event.

The 4x800m relay team of Adelyn McCorison (Ninilchik, AK/Ninilchik High School), Madeline Hartley (Rosemount, Minn./Rosemount HS), Grace Hrabik (Esko, Minn./Esko HS), and Regan DeWitt (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) placed ninth overall in a time of 10:11.25. Although the team missed out on garnering team points with the result, they did put together the third fastest 4x800m relay team in school history.

To finish out day one for the Saints, Mollykate Hagen and Abby Wood took part in the 10,000m run under the lights. Wood crossed the finish line in 11th place with a time of 41:21.54. Hagen was right in line in 12th with a time of 41:37.25. Wood sits in 8th place on the Saints all-time list, while Hagen's performance files her into ninth overall.

Although the team didn't find any points on day one, they have opportunities to strike on day two. Follow along here for Saturday's live results here.
