The 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships have come to a close, and
Ella Stritesky (Rogers, Minn./Rogers HS) put up an impressive performance in the hammer throw. Coming into the meet, Stritesky was the final athlete to make the cut in the twenty-two person field. However, she stepped up under the pressure and outperformed her seed to finish in 11th place and just miss out qualifying for the nine person final flight. After opening up with a distance of 50.61m, Stritesky had her best throw of the competition in her second go-around, landing with a mark of 51.50m. This had her setting in ninth place at the time, which would have squeezed her into the finals giving her a chance for three more throws, but a couple last round heaves saw her ultimately settle into a final finish of 11th place after her third throw fell short of her high water mark.
This finish gives Stretesky the distinction of Second Team All-American in her initial appearance at the NCAA Championships.Â
