DULUTH, Minn. — St. Scholastica continued its strong start to the season with a dominant 85–56 win over Carleton on Saturday afternoon at Reif Gymnasium, using a barrage of three-pointers, balanced scoring, and a disruptive defensive effort to move to 6–1 overall and 2–0 in MIAC play.
The Saints set the tone early with a 24-point first quarter, knocking down five triples and forcing four turnovers as they built immediate momentum. That tempo carried throughout the afternoon, with CSS finishing 17-for-35 from beyond the arc and racking up 25 assists on 30 made field goals.
Ava Haus (St. Michael, MN/St. Michael-Albertville High School) led all scorers with 23 points on 9-of-18 shooting, consistently finding gaps in the Carleton defense while adding six rebounds and three assists. Kloey Lind (Pine City, MN/Pine City HS) delivered one of her most complete performances of the season, posting 15 points, nine boards, three steals, and a block while anchoring the interior on both ends.
Evie Schmitz (Burnsville, MN/St. Louis Park) and Jackie Johnson (Bemidji, MN/Bemidji HS) added 12 points apiece, combining for eight made threes, while Savannah Schlueter (Hutchinson, MN/Hutchinson HS) chipped in another 12 off the bench to highlight a deep Saints rotation that produced 20 bench points and only three turnovers as a team. Johnson also connected on her 100th career 3PT basket in the second half.
Defensively, St. Scholastica limited Carleton to just one made three-pointer and forced 16 turnovers, turning them into 17 points the other way. Despite a strong outing from Carleton's Addy Huss (19 points) and Liesl McCallum (13), the Knights were unable to slow the Saints' pace or perimeter efficiency.
After building a 47–33 advantage at halftime, CSS never allowed Carleton to creep back within single digits, outscoring the Knights 38–23 in the second half.
With the win, St. Scholastica remains unbeaten in MIAC play and continues to showcase one of the conference's most potent offenses—both from long range and in transition—as the early-season momentum continues to build.
