BONIFACIOUS, Minn. -- St. Scholastica put together a determined effort on the road at Crown College but came up just short in a 71–68 setback. After falling behind by nine at halftime, the Saints responded with a strong second half, tightening up defensively and finding rhythm offensively to make it a one-possession game down the stretch.
Davion Butler (South Phoenix, AZ/) led the way with 22 points, consistently providing offense when the Saints needed it most. Jayden Brown (Grantsburg, WI/Grantsburg HS) added 12 points, while Koy Nelson (Port Wing, WI/South Shore HS) chipped in 13 as St. Scholastica spread the scoring across the lineup. Inside, Aaron Keykal (Princeton, MN/Princeton HS) posted a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds, helping the Saints control key stretches on the glass.
Up next, the Saints travel to Moorhead, Minnesota to take on Concordia College (MN) on Saturday, January 3 as they look to snap a five game losing skid. Tip off is scheduled for 3:00p.m.
