Saints Men's Basketball to Host Toy Toss Game

12/10/2025 3:51:00 PM

DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica men's basketball team will hosts its innaugural Toy Toss Game on Saturday, December 13 at 6:00 p.m. inside Reif Gymnasium on the campus of St. Scholastica.

Fans attending the game against Bethany Lutheran College are encouraged to bring a new, unwrapped stuffed animal to toss onto the court following the Saints' first made basket of the game. Admission is free for any fan who brings a stuffed toy.

The moment the Saints score, Reif Gymnasium will erupt as toys rain down from the stands. The stuffed animals collected during the toss will be distributed to children throughout the region, ensuring that local families in need experience the joy of receiving gifts this holiday season. This includes the Saints' Giving Tree initiative, benefiting the Safe Haven Shelter & Resource Center.

"As a program, we believe in serving something bigger than ourselves. The Toy Toss Game gives us a chance to impact families across the Northland and remind our community what the season is about," said Saints head coach Jared Drake. "A simple toss may feel small in the moment, but to a child waking up on Christmas morning, it can mean everything."
