How it Happened

1st Half:

Just minutes later, the Pioneers scored off a crossbar rebound at 15:45 leaving the score to be 2-0 Pioneers.

The Pioneers controlled most of the first half; they had four corner kicks, and three were in four minutes. Off of those corners, the Saints only allowed them to have two shots on goal, the Blue and Gold defense held excellent position from allowing the Pioneers offense to capitalize.

The Saints came out fighting throughout the whole second half. The Pioneers started with an early corner kick in the 49th minute, where soon after, the Saints were rewarded a free kick not far off of the 18-yard line but missed low right.

Not long after, the intensity rose and both teams were eager to take control, which allowed for a total of 11 free kicks in the second half, and four yellow cards were given out during the contest.

The Saints allowed the Pioneers to score two back-to-back goals, leaving the score to be 4-0. The Pioneers received their third goal by crossing it in front of the net and heading it into the goal at 84:30. The fourth came from a corner that allowed for a Pioneer play to finish it into the goal.
