Lily Beneke (Green Isle, Minn./Sibley East HS) and junior
Trent Beseth (Stanchfield, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) were officially named U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) First Team All-America for their performance at the 2024 NCAA Division III Championships.
Athletes of member institutions who finished in the top-8 of their respective individual events and as part of a relay team at the 2024 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships earned First-Team All-America honors. Those who finished ninth through 16th individually and ninth through 12th as part of a relay team were named Second-Team All-America.
Beneke repeated as All-American this season as she again finished third in the women's hammer throw with a new personal best and school record toss of of 60.06m (197-0 ft). That mark is the 10th farthest throw in-season in D3 history.
Beseth competed in the discus and shot put event, but came in seventh in the shot put with a throw of 16.94m to become the first men's thrower in program history to earn All-American honors in the shot put.
The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) is a non-profit professional organization representing cross country and track & field coaches of all levels. The organization represents thousands of coaching members encompassing NCAA track & field programs (DI, DII, and DIII) and includes members representing the NAIA and NJCAA, as well as a number of state high school coaches associations. The USTFCCCA serves as an advocate for cross country and track & field coaches, providing a leadership structure to assist the needs of a diverse membership, serving as a lobbyist for coaches' interests, and working as a liaison between the various stakeholders in the sports of cross country and track & field.
