ORLANDO, Fla. - The College of St. Scholastica men's tennis team played in their fourth match of their spring break trip and faced Belhaven University. The Saints would be able to capture the 7-2 victory over the Blazers for their seventh win on the season.
Doubles
The Saints got rolling early with grabbing all three doubles points, Jopnas Abeleda and
Eamon Gerrard-Stace (Brisbane, Au./) earned a 8-5 victory.
In the second spot,
Dane Patten (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and
Julius Tabrizi (Frankfurt, Germany/Bischof-Neumann) had a 8-3 win.
The final pairing of
Jack Onkka (Thief River Falls, Minn./) and
Alex Daigneault (Agua Dulce, Calif./Hart HS) won with a score of 8-4.
Singles
Abeleda would fall in his match, losing in the third set, while Patten dominated his opponent, 6-0, 6-0.
In the third spot, Tabrizi would win the first set 7-5, before having to retire due to an injury.
Carter Anderson (Hibbing, Minn./Hibbing HS) got the 6-2, 6-4 win and
Harper Dircks (Hopkins, Minn./) won 6-3. lost 1-6, and came back to earn the 10-3 win.
Andy Shaffer (Buffalo, Minn./) secured the final point for the Saints as he won his match 6-3, 6-3.
