DULUTH, Minn. - Saints hockey looked to bounce back tonight after losing game one in a hard-fought battle. The Saints kept Bethel out of the net but couldn't find the game-winning goal in the 3rd or overtime period as The Royals came away with the sweep after a 2-1 overtime win to wrap up the season series.
How it Happened
Both teams were left off the scoreboard for the first two periods as both goalies battled each other.Â
Bethel struck first about halfway through the 3rd period but not after senior forward Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS) assisted by Kieran Chung (Nottingham, England/) tied it up with a little over five minutes remaining.
The Saints and The Royals headed into the overtime period tied 1-1 but Bethel managed to score the game-winner to earn the sweep in the season series.
Goaltending
Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS) of the Saints didn't allow a goal until the 3rd period and stopped 22 of 24 shots he faced.Â
Austin Ryman only allowed one goal on 36 shots faced against the Saints
