MOORHEAD, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's basketball team fell in its season finale this afternoon, taking on the Cobbers from Concordia-Moorhead. The Saints trailed by double-digits at halftime, and despite the Saints having a red-hot shooting performance in the third quarter, the Cobbers were able to come away with an 86-52 victory over CSS.

How it Happened
Kloey Lind (Pine City, Minn./Pine City HS) scored the first two field goals for the Saints in the opening quarter, both coming on layups, as the Cobbers took an early 12-4 lead over CSS.

Later in the quarter, Megan Hurley (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS) scored her first points of the afternoon on a layup assisted by Hope Carlson (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS), as Concordia-Moorhead took a 27-11 lead heading into the second quarter.

After Lind scored the opening field goal for the Saints in the second quarter, Katie Vaske (Woodbury, Minn./Woodbury HS (Hamline University)) was able to hit a three-pointer.

Hurley was able to get another field goal to fall minutes later, but the Cobbers were able to take a 47-20 lead heading into halftime.

The Saints were able to get early baskets in the third quarter, with Lind scoring on a pair of layups and Jackie Johnson (Bemidji, Minn./Bemidji HS) hitting a pair of free throws and a three-pointer, but the Cobbers still held a large advantage.

CSS' next three field goals all came from beyond-the-arc, as Lexi Imdieke (Andover, Minn./Andover HS), Vaske, and Gabby Voigt (St. Michael. Minn./St. Michael- Albertville HS) all nailed three-pointers, followed by layups by Vaske and Hurley to end the quarter, with Concordia leading 68-42.

St. Scholastica got its first three field goals in the final quarter from layups, with Lind and Imdieke combining for three layups, however the Saints faced a 25-point deficit.

Closing out the final minutes, Liz Frase (Proctor, Minn./Proctor HS (Concordia-Moorhead)) scored her first points on a layup, which would be the Saints' last field goal of the afternoon, as Concordia came away with an 86-52 victory over CSS.
