Football Takes on Macalester in Homecoming Game

Duluth, MN. – The St. Scholastica Football team will host the Scots of Macalester College in another MIAC Conference matchup on Saturday, October 5. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. on Homecoming Day. 

The Saints are coming off a crushing loss to a MIAC opponent, the Concordia College Cobbers, in the Saints' first MIAC Conference game of the season. The Saints now have a record of 1-2, 0-1 MIAC going into their MIAC contest against the Scotts.

Saints to Watch

Offense

Donald West (St. Paul, Minn./Woodbury HS (Iowa Central)) is a major contributor, in his last outing, West went 18 for 35 on passing attempts, throwing for 190 yards. 

Nick Schlender (Stillwater, Minn./Stillwater HS) led the team in rushing yards and attempts. He would touch the ball 17 times through all four quarters and rack up 69 yards gained. 

Alec Ralph (Houston, TX) led the team in receptions, registering five receptions for a gain of 64 yards.

Defense

Adrian Martin (New Orleans, La./John Curtis Christian HS) registered the most tackles for the Saints, recording seven solo tackles and one assist for eight total. Martin also recorded one sack for a loss of eight yards. 

Henry Eilefson (New Brighton, Minn./Irondale HS) recorded three solo tackles and one assist for a total of four. But Eilefson led the team in sacks, recording two at night for a total loss of eight yards. 

Anthony Vo (St. Paul, Minn./Roseville HS) recorded the most cumulative tackles for the Saints, nine in total, four solo, five assisted. 

A Look at the Scots

Going into Saturday's matchup, the Scots have yet to achieve their first win on the season, currently standing at 0-3, and 0-1 in the MIAC. Most recently they also played their first MIAC Conference game against the Saint Olaf Oles, which resulted in a loss for the Scots. The Scots have the edge historically between the two teams, leading all-time matchups between the two 5-1 dating back to 2008. In their last matchup, the Scots overpowered the Saints 40-20.
