How it Happened
The first period began with both teams getting shots on goal early, but both goaltenders being able to keep the score at 0-0.

After the Saints were handed a minor penalty, Concordia-Moorhead scored the first goal of the afternoon on the powerplay, taking a 1-0 lead over CSS.

St. Scholastica responded however, when Carsen Richels (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS) tied the game at 1-1 just before the end of the period, with assists being handed to Filimon Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya) and Will Fisher (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS).

Less than five minutes into the second period, Matej Palfy (Kosice, Slovakia/Gymnasium Trebisovska) scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Nick Lanigan (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) and Alessio Raso (Montreal, Quebec/The Lawrenceville School), giving CSS its first lead of the day with a 2-1 lead.

Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS) made a number of saves for the Saints in the later moments of the second period, keeping the score at 2-1.

Concordia-Moorhead was able to break through and tie the game at 2-2 with just 10 seconds left in the second period.

With the game tied at 2-2 in the third period, F. Ledenkov found the back of the net, with an assist going to Braeden Holcomb (Grand Rapids, Minn./Grand Rapids HS), giving CSS a 3-2 lead midway through the third period.

The Cobbers once again tied the game at 3-3 less than two minutes later on a shorthanded goal.

St. Scholastica was able to break through just after its power play ended, when Richels scored for the second time of the game, assisted by Danylo Sukhonos (Kharkiv, Ukraine/Brovary Professional Lyceum) and Holcomb, giving CSS a 4-3 lead with around seven minutes remaining.

CSS wasn't done scoring, as Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS) was able to score on an empty net, extending the lead to 5-3 with under a minute to play.

With the Cobbers net empty once again, Tristan Shewchuk (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/St. Joseph HS) was able to put the game out of reach, as the Saints came away with a 6-3 victory over Concordia-Moorhead this afternoon.
