After the overtime period, the Saints were able to come away with a 2-0 victory in the shootout, recording a tie in tonight's action.

How it Happened
Less than five minutes into the opening period, the Oles struck first to jump out to an early 1-0 lead over the Saints.

After a number of attempts to tie the game in the opening period, the Saints were able to break through in the final minute of the first period. Tristan Shewchuk (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/St. Joseph HS) was the man responsible for tying the game, with assists going to Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS) and Jacob Seitz (Mountain Iron, Minn./Virginia HS), as both teams went into the first intermission tied at 1-1.

Opening the second period, the Saints defense showed up to hold the tie at 1-1, with Bryce Johnson (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS), Shewchuk, and Emmett Wurst (Edina, Minn./Edina HS) all recording blocked shots in the early moments of the period.

Minutes later, Shewchuk scored his second goal of the night, as assisted by Adrian and Alec Severson (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS), to give CSS a 2-1 lead to take into the second intermission.

The Saints rode its hot streak into the beginning moments of the third period, this time it was Filimon Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya) scoring his seventh goal of the season, assisted by Carsen Richels (Ham Lake, Minn./Blaine HS) and Arkhip Ledenkov (Polotsk, Belarus/Ostroshitsko-Gorodokskaya), as the Saints now led 3-1.

Less than two minutes later, St. Olaf responded with a goal of its own, cutting into the Saints lead as the Saints still led 3-2.

Later in the period, St. Olaf was able to tie the game at 3-3 with a goal with just about four minutes left to play in the game.

The Saints got a handful of late shots in the period, but they would be for not, as the score ended regulation tied at 3-3.

In the five minute overtime period, neither team was able to find the back of the net, as the game would now enter a shoutout.

Jack Bostedt (Janesville, Wis./Janesville Craig HS) showed up in a big way for the Saints in the shootout, as the goalie stopped both of the two shots he faced, while the Saints got scores from F. Ledenkov and Seitz, giving CSS a 2-0 win in the shootout, but a 3-3 tie overall tonight.
