DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team hosted the Knights from Carleton College this afternoon at Kenny Harkins Field. The Saints held the MIAC's highest scoring offense to just two goals, but the Knights were able to shut down the Saints' offense, taking today's game by a score of 2-0.
How it Happened
Gracie Meagher (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) got the start today for the Saints, and she was able to record high quality saves, keeping the match tied at 0-0.
Nearing the end of the first half, the Knights broke the tie, on a perfectly placed free kick to take a 1-0 lead before the half.
The Saints defense stepped up early in the second half, keeping the score at 1-0.
In the 67th minute, the Knights found the back of the net for the second time of the afternoon, extending its lead to 2-0 over CSS.
The Knights defense shut down the Saints' attempts at a comeback late in the half, as Carleton walked away with a 2-0 victory over CSS this afternoon.

The Saints (0-9-1, 0-3-1) will be back in action next Saturday, where they will travel to St. Paul to take on the Scots from Macalester. Kickoff is scheduled for noon.
