ARDEN HILLS, Minn. — The St. Scholastica women's soccer team fell in a conference matchup against the Royals from Bethel this afternoon. The Saints were able to net a goal in the second half, but the deficit was too much for the Saints, as Bethel took today's matchup by a score of 5-1.
How it Happened
The Royals netted two goals early in the first half, taking a 2-0 lead in the first 22 minutes.
After the score remained at 2-0 at halftime, Bethel scored the first goal of the second half, extending its lead to 3-0 over CSS.
In the 51st minute, Gabrielle Eckman (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) found the back of the net, her first collegiate goal, cutting the deficit to 3-1.
However, the Royals responded with two goals in two minutes, as Bethel pulled away in today's matchup, by a score of 5-1.
