The Saints weren't done just yet in the first period, as Nick Lanigan (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS) scored his first goal of the season on the powerplay, with assists going to Isaac Suppin (Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada/George Elliot Secondary) and Tristan Shewchuk (Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/St. Joseph HS), to give CSS a 3-0 lead to take into the second period.
In the opening minutes of the second period, Northland ended its scoreless game, getting one by Bostedt as the lead for CSS sat at 3-1.
After the Saints were handed two penalties, Northland pulled its goalie to try to chip away to its two-goal deficit. However, CSS' penalty kill stood tall, with blocked shots coming from Will Fisher (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), Nathan Adrian (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS), and Alec Severson (Roseau, Minn./Roseau HS), as the score remained 3-1.
Near the end of the second period, the Saints regained its three-goal lead, as F. Ledenkov scored his first goal of the night, with assists coming from A. Ledenkov and Matej Palfy (Kosice, Slovakia/Gymnasium Trebisovska), as CSS now led 4-1.

Both teams traded shots midway through the third period, as the LumberJacks tried to make a comeback in this one, still trailing 4-2.
Within the back half of the period, F. Ledenkov scored his second goal of the night when the Saints were on the penalty kill, putting CSS in the driver's seat, leading by three goals with minutes to play.
