DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team hosted the Cobbers from Concordia-Moorhead this afternoon in its home finale. After the score remained 0-0 at halftime, the Cobbers scored the lone goal of the match, defeating CSS by a score of 1-0.
How it Happened
The Saints defense played a big impact in the first half, as the Cobbers offense pushed hard for an early goal, but Gracie Meagher (Cloquet, Minn./Cloquet HS) was there as the last line of defense for the Saints.
CSS had a pair of shots in the late moments of the first half, as Francesca Kratochvill (Blaine, Minn./Blaine HS) and Sophie Paul (Shakopee, Minn./Holy Family Catholic HS) put some shots up for the Saints, but the score remained 0-0 as the match went into halftime.
Five minutes into the second half, the Cobbers broke the tie score with a go-ahead goal, making the score 1-0.
St. Scholastica put a couple of shots on goal, with Gabrielle Eckman (Brainerd, Minn./Brainerd HS) and Ellie Keillor (Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) both attempting to tie the score, but it would be for not as the game remained at 1-0.
In the late moments of the match, the Saints made a late push, but unfortunately it would fall short, as the Cobbers took today's match by a score of 1-0.

The Saints (1-14-2, 1-6-2) will hit the road for its final match of the season, where they will travel to St. Peter to take on Gustavus. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
