DULUTH, Minn. – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team honored its seniors today, as the Yellowjackets from UW-Superior came across the border. The Yellowjackets scored two goals early, and although the Saints responded with a goal of its own, UW-Superior was able to add one more goal in the second half, taking this match by a score of 3-1.
How it Happened
UW-Superior came out flying in this match, scoring an early goal in the first minute, to take an early 1-0 lead.
In the eighth minute, the Yellowjackets scored yet again, taking a 2-0 lead over CSS in the first half.
The Saints weren't going to go down without a fight, as just two minutes after the Yellowjackets scored, Tenley Voth (Farmington, Minn./Farmington HS) found the back of the net, cutting the deficit to 2-1.
The Yellowjackets took a 2-1 lead into halftime, and about halfway through the second half, Superior put the dagger on the game, scoring a goal in the 67th minute, leading now 3-1.
Although the Saints made a late push, Superior was able to hold on for a 3-1 win in today's border battle.

The Saints (1-11-2, 1-3-2) will be back in action on Wednesday, where they will host the College of St. Benedict at Kenny Harkins Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
