(cssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team hosted Augsburg University this afternoon in a MIAC conference matchup. Both teams scored early in the first half, and a late goal by
Arseno Hamilton (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George College (Trinidad State JC)) in the 81
st minute gave the Saints a lead in which they would not lose, as CSS defeated Augsburg by a score of 2-1.
How it Happened
The Saints got on the scoreboard early this afternoon, as
Colin O'Reilly (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS) scored his first goal of the season on an assist by
Arseno Hamilton (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George College (Trinidad State JC)) in just the first three minutes of the game.
Augsburg responded less than 10 minutes later, as the Auggies tied the game at 1-1.
Both teams went back-and-forth, with great defense and goaltending kept the game tied at 1-1.
In the 81
st minute, Hamilton tailed his third goal of the season, and that goal would be the deciding factor in the game, as CSS defeated Augsburg by a score of 2-1.
