csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica men's soccer team begins its 2022 season up at Saints Field as it welcomes the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) to Duluth on Saturday. Then they will host former conference foe and Highway 2 rival Northland College on Sunday.

What You Need to Know about the Saints:
-The Saints went 7-10-1 with a 3-6-1 league record in their first season in the Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (MIAC) in 2021.
-The Saints spent their preseason in England where they 3-1 in four exhibition matches.
-St. Scholastica has won its season opener each of the last two seasons, including a 2-0 win over Saint John's University last year.
-The Saints return five of their top seven goal scorers from a season ago, but lose leading scorer
Nolan Friday (Duluth, Minn./Duluth East HS), who an Honorable Mention All-MIAC choice.
-Leading the returners will be seniors
Finigan Huffington (Georgetown, Cayman Islands/John Gray HS),
Jordan Finneran (Newmarket, England/Cambridge Regional College) and
Ken Pryde (Fareham, England/Barton Peveril College).
-Huffington was second on the team with four goals and 11 points in 2021.
-Finneran led the team with four assists and was third on the squad with 10 points.
-Pryde was the team's lone First Team All-MIAC performer a year ago as he was the only St. Scholastica player to appear in all 18 games. He led the team in minutes played as he played all but 14 minutes.
-Other field starters back include midfielder
Colin O'Reilly (Hopkins, Minn./Hopkins HS), along with defenders
Arseno Hamilton (Kingston, Jamaica/St. George College (Trinidad State JC)) and
Neven Bajic (Jona, Switzerland/BWZ Rapperswil).
-The Saints also welcome back midfielder
Keegan Chastey (Duluth, Minn./Duluth Denfeld HS), who played for the Saints in the spring of 2021.
-Chastey was a First Team All-UMAC selection that season after leading the team with six goals, seven assists and 19 points in nine games.
-His dad,
Barry Chastey, enters his 18
th season on the bench for the Saints.
-In goal, the Saints welcome back junior
Liam Lothian (Redditch, England/RSA Academy Arrow Vale), who started 17 games last season, recording two shutouts.
What You Need to Know about MSOE
Record: 1-0-0, 0-0-0 NACC
-The Raiders opened their season Thursday night with a 3-1 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
-MSOE has been picked to finish third in the Northern Athletics Collegiate Conference (NACC) this season.
-The Raiders went 10-7-3 last year with a 7-3-2 mark in NACC play.
-They fell in the NACC Tournament semifinals to top-seeded St. Norbert College.
-Forward Zach Thompson was named the NACC Freshman of the Year last season.

What You Need to Know about Northland
Record: 0-1-0, 0-0-0 UMAC
-The LumberJacks opened their season with a 7-0 setback to No. 15 St. Olaf College on Thursday.
-Northland was 10-10-1 last season and 8-5-1 in UMAC play.
-The LumberJacks are picked to finish third in the UMAC this season, according to the preseason coaches' poll.
-Returning are First Team All-UMAC goalkeeper Jamie Colvill, as well as, First Team All-UMAC performer Diego Castaneda.
