ABILENE, TX. (csssaints.com) – The St. Scholastica women's soccer team fell in their season opener to Hardin-Simmons University on Thursday in Abilene Texas, 2-0.
How It Happened
Hardin-Simmons controlled the pace of the first half as 19 of their 22 shots were made in the first 45 minutes. Although all seven of Brianna Jorgenson's (Columbia Heights, Minn./Columbia Heights HS) saves occurred in the first half, HSU was still able to get themselves on the board in the 41st minute of the game.
It remained a 1-0 game until the 58th minute of the game when HSU put another one up on the board. Despite the Saints attempt to come back, their two shots on goal for the night were not enough. The final score came out to be a shutout win for Hardin-Simmons 2-0.
